progeCAD 2011 Pro - Curved solids render with faceted surface.. I had set FACETRES to 10

The facets are the ugly little secret of the solid modeling set. Although one can get a better representation by increasing the faceres and view res to a much higher number. I believe 10 is a really low number and will put in 10 facets per unit, or per object, can't remember which. The faceting won't disappear entirely but it should be much more pleasing to the eyes...

Enjoy!

Thank you Scott for your reply. But the maximum value for FACETRES is only 10. It cannot be increased. Is there any other way to increase the smoothness?

With best regards

perhaps try viewres. With a viewres too small the object being displayed will have facets on the drawing, but when plotted/printed will be a perfect circle or arc. Is the problem with display or in printing the drawing. If display try viewres and see if that does not smooth the objects out...

It is neither. It is actually the rendered image. Increasing viewres to the maximum of 20000 also does not help.

In AutoCAD the same file with a viewres of 1000 and facetres of just 1 renders very smoothly.
