Open Drawing

Toolbar: Standard > Open ()

Menu: File > Open

Keyboard: OPEN

Shortcut: Ctrl+O

Alias: OP

Displays the Open Drawing dialog box so you can open an existing drawing. You can open DWG, DXF, DWF, and DWT files with this command. To find files on another drive, use the Look In list. You can navigate to find the file name you want, or type the name into the File Name field.

To change how drawing files display in the Open Drawing dialog box, click the View Menu button in the upper right corner.

The Preview area lets you see a thumbnail of a drawing before you open it. A thumbnail image displays if one exists in the selected drawing, which depends on the RASTERPREVIEW system variable setting at the time the drawing was saved.

If the drawing you are opening requires a password, enter the password, click OK to verify the password, and then click Open again.
