progeEARTH Land Development Suite
This Survey, Cogo, DTM, and Road Design software, used with progeCAD® Professional, provides a low-cost alternative to otherwise high priced Land survey, coordinate geometry, digital terrain modeling, and corridor design software including working directly with AutoCAD DWG files, without having to pay a fortune to do so.
Familiarity of AutoCAD
progeEARTH allows you to use the commands and menus you are used to, the same ones you would find in AutoCAD, and supports the same fonts, hatch patterns, model space/paper space, most of the features to have relied on in the past. The software costs a fraction of the price you would pay for an AutoCAD solution.
Perfect for Surveyors, Civil Engineers, Architects...
This software is ideal for Professional Land Surveyors and Civil Engineers who need an economical software solution. It also provides a low-cost way for Architects to communicate their data to the Engineer.
This Survey, Cogo, DTM, and Road Design software provides a total solution for importing your point data from data collector files, manual point entry, point manipulation, lot design and annotation, contours, digital terrain models, profiles, cross sections and corridor design.
progeEARTH: Survey and Cogo
Unleash the power of or progeCAD® Professional with this Affordable Survey & Cogo software! Traverse and Label, Closure Reporting and our Utilities are included in the Survey and Cogo package. Other optional modules include DTM, and Road Design. Survey and Cogo is an add-on program for progeCAD® Professional. You will need progeCAD® to run this program.
Boundary Traverse and Sideshot
You may manipulate points in the drawing by moving or rotating them, you may change the elevation of a group of points, you may resize existing points in the drawing and you may also pivot the points about their placement point.
You may label the bearing (or North or South Azimuth) and distance of a line by selecting it or by picking points. You may:
Bearing and Distance Listing
You may list the bearing and distance of a line by selecting it.
You may let the program automatically compute lot areas by Slide Bearing or Radial methods.
To help you in creating your drawing, we offer a collection of drafting aids. You may import a text file, insert a graphic scale or place crowsfeet on a line. You may Label stations on an alignment, create a profile coordinate system, label elevations by picking and extract a profile from 3d faces or from 3D lines. You may place text in a line or find and replace text in the drawing.
Traverse and Label
Allows you to draw a traverse using Bearing and Distances. You may also enter curves to the left or right (Radius and Arc length). You may also label any lines in the drawing by bearing and distance and curves by radius and arc length.
Select English or Metric units -changes the ltscale and labeling precision, changes dimscale to the scale of the drawing, it changes textsize to one tenth the drawing scale (English) and to 3mm (Metric) and it changes other dimension variables.
Draw by entering bearings and distances and curves. Good for inputing an existing boundary.
You may label the bearing and distance of a line by selecting it or by picking points.
Label by selecting a line
Label lines (point)
Label by selecting 2 points for a line
Label by selecting a curve
Label curves (point)
Label by selecting 3 points to define a curve (center start end - counterclockwise)
Label areas in square feet and acres (or Hectares) by selecting a closed polyline.
Print a detailed traverse and closure report using Bearings or Azimuths describing each leg of the traverse along with the area and error of closure.
Digital Terrain Modeling
Create a Triangulated Irregular Network. Use fault lines to control model. Create contours at user defined intervals. Calculate volumes. Unlimited number of surfaces. Create fully annotated profiles.
Create a TIN
Create a Triangular Irregular Network of a set of points. Any point file in the xyz format can be used to create a surface model. Fault lines may be added to the model to control the triangulation process. Boundaries and voids may also be used to control the appearance of the model.
Contours may be created at user defined intervals and placed on user defined layers.
A mesh may be created of the surface.
Calculate Cut and Fill
Volume calculations may be made between two surfaces.
Create an unlimited number of surfaces.
DTM Profile Cutter
Select a polyline alignment and cut a profile from the surface. The profile may then be imported into a drawing. The program places a grid around the profile and annotates stations and existing ground elevations on a user defined interval. You may overlay the existing profile with a new profile cut from a modified surface model.
Select a polyline alignment to cut a section or profile along.
This can be as simple as a straight line or as complicated as a roadway alignment with horizontal curves.
Select 3D lines, polylines or 3D faces to cut a section or profile from.
Select existing contour lines or other topo features. A section or profile is cut from these elements.
A fully annotated section or profile may be imported into your drawing.
The program places a grid around the profile and annotates stations and existing ground elevations on a user defined interval. You may overlay the existing profile with a new profile cut from modified topo features.
Simple Road Design
Simple Road Design is suitable for use on Site Plans, Subdivisions and other areas where you need a simple corridor design.
Profiles and Cross Sections
Cut profiles and cross sections at user defined intervals along an alignment.
Define and display proposed profiles along with vertical curves. The program places a grid around the profile and annotates stations and existing and proposed ground elevations on a user defined interval.
Existing or Proposed Cross Sections
Create sheets of existing or proposed cross sections. The program places a grid around the cross sections and annotates elevations, offsets and existing and proposed ground elevations at the profile grade line.
Define and apply roadway templates to the cross sections.
Place ditches by elevation or depth.
Define backslopes or pin to an offset.
Cut and Fill Calculations
Calculate cut and fill volumes based on average end areas.
