How do I toggle layer transparemcy on and off?

I can set the transparency to the level I desire but it only responds on the screen when I do  "regen" and I have to change the transparency setting back to 0 and hit the "regen" button to reverse that image to full visibility.

Dear Bill,

what is the progeCAD version that you experienced the reported behavior with? The 2016 Professional?

After you select an image, the Properties mask will list its active settings.
In particular, you'll be able to act on its on screen Transparency value. We weren't able to reproduce the behavior you highlighted, this way.

Can you please forward the complete list of steps to follow, to correctly investigate it?

We look forward to receiving the information that we asked for. Please forward them to the support@progecad.com email address. Thank you.

Best Regards
