Convert 3dfaces to solid objects

I have created 3dfaces along two inner and outer spirals to create a worm gear. How can I convert the 3dfaces to 3dobjects?

AutoCAD does it with these commands: CONVTOSURFACE, CONVTOSOLID, and THICKEN. Does progeCAD have a similar solution/commands? See this link too. http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/qaID.asp?tip=5117

Otherwise progeCAD 2011 solid modeling is too limited for my current project.

I know of no way to convert from a surface to a solid. One can go the other way by exploding a solid object. My choice knowing this would be to create the helix as a solid to begin with.
