Shingle material on a 3dface object?

How do I put a shingle material on a 3dface object in 3D for rendering?
First I looking in the available materials with progeCAD Pro 2010, not there. Then I tried using a shingle hatch patten on the 3dface of my roof. It displayed in 2D only.

Hatch patterns are just a representative of the actual real world object thus only 2D. I believe they can be drawn in 3d space only displaying as a flatland entity. So theoretically you should be able to put them on the top of a 3D face (although you will most likely need to redraw a boundary for the hatching as a 3D face will not be interpreted as a flatland boundary by the hatch command).

Thanks Scott. How does one put a shingle pattern from the materials library on a 3Dface. I have a 3D model of a house that needs to show shingles on the gable roofs when I render. After more reading it seems I have to create a new shingles material for the materials library.
