I am evaluating the conversion from AutoCAD 2008 to ProgeCAD  How can I make text styles "Annotative" so that Dim Scale Overall and Dim Scale Linear adjust to the viewport scale?

progeCAD currently does not have the same sophistication regarding annotative dimensions (this is due in part to our architecture beginning to become somewhat outdated). We have a new version due out soon that might change that in that we will have comparable tools for building more intelligence into our objects in the drawing. This release, while parts of it have been seen in the wild, is not entirely baked yet. progeCAD is the type of company that wants to ensure their products run with the least amount of pain for their customers so until they feel it works right, it wont be released. I am not positive that the behavior of the dimensions you are hoping for will come in that first version or not, but it makes it much, much easier for our developers to implement those types of "smart" objects. For now, youve got to use dimscale, update and other tools by themselves rather than as one cohesive command. Be aware also that progeCAD's fonts are not identical to AutoCAD's and that you may have to adjust your scaling after the new dimension fonts are read into your drawing.
