Can I re-install ProgeCad over an existing installation with having to register it again?

I have progecad 2010 professional and it seems to be dieing. It crashes more frequently and I've lost some of the functionality. I believe Scott Hucke told me that could re-install over the top of the existing installation without having to re-register. This is important because all the registrations on this license have been used.

Yes, installing over the top is the recommend method for re-installing progeCAD.

Regarding the instability problems, are you working on drawings that may have been worked on in AutoCAD? There is often problems with their implementation of DWG which can cause progeCAD to become unstable. We recommend doing an audit or recover on all drawings last saved by AutoCAD.

You might also want to check your system for infection. I have had experience in the past where day to day usage does not reveal any issues with the computer but adding pCad will cause instability problems since its need for memory is larger than most typical software. It crowds into an area in memory that a virus or Trojan was occupying and since the system does not know about the mimicry it is using, will try to put parts of progeCAD into the same address space as the infection.

The problem usually manifests itself when I'm copying and pasteing from the clip board. I've had it crash so hard that it wiped out all my customization and I spent the biggest part of a day getting that put back together. Also, when I try to use the drawing explorer, I get an error message "Error Creating This Form". This problem with the drawing explorer persists even after re-installing.
