When I copy a layer into a new drawing, none of the attributes or objects appear in the new document

I have tried using the projecad explorer to copy and paste a layer into a new drawing but the attributes of the layer in the new drawing don't appear.  For example, I have a single polygon in the layer I'm copying, but it doesn't show up in the new drawing, even though the layer is turned on.  Any ideas?

Dear progeCAD Customer,

the progeCAD Explorer, that you open pressing the CTRL+2 keys, could be employed to copy different drawings elements in between them. This means that you could copy Layers, Linetypes, Text Styles, Layouts, Blocks in between them. You could verify that your selection will be present in the target document.
The Layer contents will not to be transferred. In case you want them, you could create blocks containing the interested geometric entities.

Thank you for paying attention.

Best regards
